Science should serve the human community by contributing to the quality of life for everyone as well as by ensuring a healthy and a productive environment.
Objectives:
- to enhance the implementation of the NDT Technology recognizing it as powerfull tool in Public and Environment Security and Safety,
- to motivate and support the EFNDT members and expert to consider R&D activities and NDT diagnostic technology for all kinds of dangerous materials, explosive objects and devices as well as remnants of war threatening the public life,
- to encourage the harmonization in education and certification of personel in humanitarian demining and generally detection of dangerous objects, devices and remnants
- to contribute to the EU Safety and Security standardisation of the requirements, procedures and activities.
Tasks:
- to analyze the present situation of existing NDT methods and to search for suitable physical principles with a potential to improve the Security and Safety in the civil environment
- to organize the exchange of experiences between the operators in the fields such as law enforcement officers, deminers etc. on one side and the researchers and the developers in the NDT community on the other side
- to identify similarities and differences between Security and Safety application technologies
- to improve the reliability of detection and diagnostic methods related to explosive and other dangerous objects as well as remnants of war
- to encourage EFNDT WG5 members to participare in EU research programs forming partnerships and promoting NDT technology projects for Security and Safety
